6/15/17 – FDA to hold public opioid meeting July 10-11

FDA Commissioner Gottlieb has announced a public meeting July 10-11 as part of the agency’s commitment to addressing the opioid addiction crisis. The public meeting will focus on whether abuse-deterrent opioid drugs are actually limiting abuse. Gottlieb stressed the need for better scientific information on how to optimize the agency’s assessment of abuse-deterrent opioid formulations.
